IBM Trading Partner Management

IBM B2B Trading Partner Management refers to the efficient administration and collaboration with business partners involved in trading activities. This involves overseeing and coordinating interactions with external entities, ensuring smooth communication, and managing the exchange of business documents and information within the IBM B2B framework.

Utilizing IBM Partner Engagement Manager (PEM) Standard alongside PEM Community Manager (PCM) enhances the efficiency of onboarding trading partners in Sterling Integrator and Sterling File Gateway. Proper installation structuring is crucial to guarantee optimal functionality and user-friendly operation. This document outlines the activities associated with PEM Standard, Community Manager, and Secure File Gateway. The fundamental components of trading partner integration encompass trading partner profiles, services, and service profiles. In WebLogic Integration, a trading partner is defined as an entity engaged in a specific business transaction or service agreement with another entity, playing a predefined role. A trading partner profile includes the identifying information of the trading partner along with any necessary certificates or protocol binding definitions required for conducting business transactions. A service denotes a business process either provided by a local trading partner or invoked through a control on a remote trading partner. In the case of a service offered by a local trading partner, this element corresponds directly to a deployed Web service or process type in the local domain. When a service is called by a local trading partner, it corresponds to a control in the local domain utilized for invoking the remote service. Service profiles outline the protocol binding and URL endpoints for both local and remote trading partners participating in offering and calling the service.

IBM Partner Engagement Manager (PEM) Standard comprises several components: IBM PEM Portal, Repository, Provisioner, and Community Manager. PEM Standard operates within docker containers, utilizing a cloud-agnostic architecture. Data gathered through the PEM portal is stored in the PEM repository. The PEM provisioner assesses information in the PEM repository, triggering API calls to Community Manager. This, in turn, creates partner setups in IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, IBM Sterling File Gateway, and IBM Transformation Extender Advanced (ITXA). This seamless process enables the establishment of partner setups and workflow configurations.
